Everyone is looking for ways to optimize their budgets. One way you can save money on your aromatic candles is to get them to last longer. We have some tips on how you can do just that.

New candles need to be shown the way.

When you first get a scented candle and light it for the first time, ensure that you allow it to burn for as long as possible. It needs to form a complete pool of melted wax across the surface of the candle. If you light it and let it begin a baby pool, the candle will only burn down that initial circumference the next time you light it. It will waste all the wax on the sides of the candle. Scented candles have memory. Ensure that you give it the best chance at success, and use as much of the wax as possible on its maiden burn.

Keep the candle in a protected area.

A sure-fire way to burn a scented candle quickly is to expose it to the wind, a drafty passage, or even in the path of a fan or air conditioner. Ensuring that your aromatic candle has protection from these windy areas will allow it to disperse the scent and last longer overall.

The longer the wick, the quicker the burn.

Trimming your wicks may seem counter-productive, but a shorter wick does have a few benefits. If your wick is too long, it can cause your candle to burn unevenly, causing a flood of wax into the center and extinguishing the flame. It can also cause your candle to smoke and leave a burned residue in the wax, which can smell unpleasant, especially with an aromatic candle.

Leave your candles to cool.

After burning your candle, allow it to cool 100% before lighting it again. The wax needs to harden before relighting it. The cooling process can take up to two hours. Another trick is to freeze your scented candle to preserve the smell and allow it to take longer to burn.

A suitable method for cooling your candle is to turn it upside down. This will drain excess wax and allow the wick to be exposed. You can then wipe the wick down once it has cooled, so it is ready for the next time.

Clean your candles

We don’t mean a bath or shower, but you do need to keep the candle pool clear of any debris that may have fallen into the candle. Often, burnt wick left over matches or even pet fur can get caught up in your candle wax. This will solidify into the wax if you leave it to cool in the wax. You will be sacrificing your aromatic candle’s scent if you are not diligent enough to keep it clean.

To see our full range of aromatic candles, click here. https://www.shaz.printsondemand.ca

The evolution of scented candles has come a long way to make them “greener” and cleaner to have in our homes.
Traditionally, paraffin was used in wax candles. Paraffin, Petroleum derivative however, emits a black flame and can be toxic to breathe. Soy wax is a more natural product that is a cleaner and healthier alternative to the older paraffin wax candles.

What is Soy Wax made of?

Soy wax is a 100% natural wax product made from vegetable soybeans.
Soybeans are easy to grow and plentiful to harvest, making them a more accessible alternative to using the earth’s natural resources to burn candles. Once the beans are harvested, they go through cleaning, cracking, and rolling into flakes. The oil is derived from these flakes.
The benefits of using soybeans as opposed to the oils from petroleum or coal are twofold.
Any excess product is then used as animal feed, which completes the harvest’s circular economy to zero waste. The second benefit is no dirty or harmful emissions are released into your home or the atmosphere.

Scientists see more connections to cancers in humans and animals from toxic chemicals being released into the air. Breathing in this dirty air is polluting our lungs and contributing to a host of secondary health concerns.

So why Soy wax?

Firstly, it is a natural product, environmentally friendly, and is 100% renewable. Knowing that we are not depleting the world’s natural resources to harvest it, we can breathe out. Nor are we potentially harming the sea or wildlife with oil spills when accidents occur.

Soy wax is also a slower burning wax. The candle lasts longer, as it takes longer to burn. This saves you money in the long run.

Soy wax is a perfect material to add fragrances to. It is one of the best forms of aromatic candles on the market. The soy does not smell attached to it, so the full bouquet of the essential oils used in the scented candles is amplified.

You can be assured that by selecting a pure soy wax scented candle, you add to the sustainability of the circular economy. Reducing our reliance on the earth’s natural resources and not emitting harmful smoke into the atmosphere.

The Benefits of using and Aromatic Candle in your home life is all about to move around the sweet aromatic fragrances which gives you an opportunity to enjoy the nature with peace and health.

The centuries-old practice of aromatherapy to relieve a myriad of issues is well documented. We use Essential Oils and their fragrances to reduce stress, gain energy, alleviate pain, and enhance your concentration. The aroma of these essential oils stimulates our senses, and in doing so, can elevate our mood.

By adding scented candles to your home, you can change any negative emotions that may be lurking. It is no secret that burning aromatic candles alongside a relaxing bubble bath can drain your stress right away.

Our olfactory senses drive the smell directly into the body’s bloodstream and instantly change the mood in a room.

Making use of aromatic candles in your home or office can have different effects. Lighting a Citrus scented candle in the morning can increase your concentration. Burning a Jasmine scented candle in the evening calms your body and gets you ready for sleep.
